It’s been a while folks

and I’m sorry if this blog hasn’t been very active as of late, but I noticed a lot of praise in my ask box for this blog (now that all the messages go to one inbox for all of my blogs…I only just noticed this). I appreciate the love and I want to give back.

Sorry for not being so active and such (life becomes a shitstorm and blogging takes a backseat y’know?). I’d like to change that. I’m back to posting random ass nonsense on my personal Tumblr so I think it’s time to get back into doing this.

Bear with me while I find my footing again and once I figure out how I want this to go down, I’d love to open this blog up to submissions and maybe have someone else help me maintain it when life gets crazy for me or I drink too much.

Again, thanks to everyone who’s shown love for this blog.

eckleburgs-eyes asked: Do you have any idea where to find folk punk tshirts? I've looked especially for defiance, ohio, spoonboy, johnny hobo and the frieght trains, and wingnut dishwashers union..and defiance, ohio only has one as far as I can tell..and the others don't have any. Help? :)

The best thing I can tell you to do is see the band live if you can, and buy it from them (I’m mainly talking Defiance, Ohio and Spoonboy, though I don’t think he has merch other than music for his solo stuff). I don’t think Pat the Bunny has ever had any shirts for any of his projects. I could be wrong about this.

Really the best thing to do is to DIY and make your own. It’s pretty easy to learn how to do a basic screenprint by hand if you really need a shirt or a patch.

The Condition by Defiance, Ohio

The condition is so crushing as if all the world is crashing,
all the world comes crashing, world comes crashing down on me.
The news is a distorted view through someone else’s glasses,
reprinted for the masses and so I killed my TV.
And are you the type to let yourself get scared?
We all go swimming naked, or at least strip to our underwear,
am I the type to miss you when I’m gone?
Well I guess it won’t be that long…
Driving to strange places,
seeing even stranger faces and am I the type to let myself complain?
Everything’s so foreign and so I plug my guitar into a broken amplifier
I am happy, I am sane and I am growing every day in every single way…
And I’m already gone,
and I’m feeling so free,
I will sing my victory song.

ramblersghost asked: You gots a good idea going, have you thought of making this a collaboration? I'm in if so...

Thank you!  I feel really lazy and I’ve fallen behind on posting stuff here as this past week’s been hectic. I actually could use another hand!  Why the hell not?! Get me your email and I’ll totally add you to the blog!

quote

They said to just be ourselves but we all knew that was never good enough. They said we had every chance but how could we not fuck it all up?

We would spend a life time trying to figure out how to make our hearts stop beating! We would spend a life time trying to figure out how to make ourselves stop breathing!

I remember grade school and started to notice that I was the only kid sitting alone. I remember high school and started to notice that not much had changed since I was six years old.

I would spend a lifetime trying to figure out how to make my heart stop beating! I would spend a lifetime trying to figure out how to make myself stop breathing! Stop breathing.

inmidnightblood asked: got any folk punk done by more than just dudes?

I can definitely arrange that. I’m glad you mentioned that. This is still kind of a new blog for me. I started it as to not oversaturate my personal Tumblr with all of this stuff (as awesome as it is). Right now I’ve just been posting stuff that I’ve been jamming on recently whenever the thought pops in my head.

Once I find my footing with this, I’m definitely branching out even more. I appreciate your suggestion. I’ll definitely get some gals up in here within the next few days. I’ve been slacking on this in general.

Thanks :)
